ABOUT ME

Andrew Jacob (b. 2002) is an American composer, flautist, and conductor currently based in Oklahoma City, OK. His recent accomplishments include receiving the Kimie Composition Prize, being selected as the 2024-2025 Composer-in-Residence for the RCS Brass Department, participating in the 2025 Engaged Composer Scheme,

serving as the Founder and Executive Director of Composer’s United, and receiving the Michael Hennagin Memorial Scholarship in Composition. His music has been performed internationally across the United States, Scotland, England, Finland, and Malta. Through a strong focus on collaboration, Andrew has written for performers

at many different stages of their musical careers, fostering meaningful working relationships and building professional connections with ensembles and organizations such as Hebrides Ensemble, Live Music Now Scotland, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

 

Andrew is described as someone who “is very approachable and loves

working with others” while his music has been characterized as "unapologetically boisterous, energetic, and rhythmic”. He earned his Bachelor’s in Music Composition from the University of Oklahoma in 2024 and his Master's in Music Composition at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2026.
